Line Service Technician- Manassas VA
Position Overview:
The Line Service Technician is responsible for supporting safe, efficient aircraft ground operations at a general aviation facility. This position is heavily focused on ramp safety, excellent customer service, and the handling and servicing of aircraft. Technicians work outdoors in all weather conditions and regularly interact with pilots, passengers, and crew.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties include towing, parking, marshalling, and fuelling a variety of general aviation aircraft. The technician must follow strict safety protocols and comply with all airport and FAA regulations. Additional services such as lavatory servicing, baggage handling, GPU hookup, and catering coordination are also part of the role. The technician is expected to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times. Routine inspections of equipment and ramp areas are required to ensure safety and operational readiness. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
While previous experience in aviation, ramp operations, or the military is preferred, it is not mandatory. A valid driver’s license required. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug screening, and must meet airport security standards. The job requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, and physical activity including standing, bending, walking, and climbing. Candidates must be comfortable working in outdoor environments with exposure to noise, fuel fumes, and weather extremes.
